FFLA  Awards

The Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA) is a professional organization whose objective is to advocate for world languages and provide high quality professional development opportunities for their members. In that spirit, FFLA recognizes World Language faculty in Florida through a variety of awards. 

All FFLA members in good standing are able to nominate a colleague or a student for an award and themselves eligible to win an award. Both nominator and nominee must be members in good standing, or the teacher or professor of a student who is nominated. To verify membership status, please send an email to .  

Some of the awards that FFLA has offered in the past are listed below:  

1.  Teacher of Promise Award

2.  Florida Foreign Language Association, Inc. Teacher of the Year Award (FFLA TOY)

3.  Florida Teacher of the Year (TOY) for Associated Leagues  (determined by individual associated leagues)

4.  Best of FFLA  (determined at annual FFLA conference)

5. Teacher's Hall of Fame (Process under review-applications will open soon)

6. Scholar/Student of the Year Award

7. Wershow Award

8. 2017 Most Valuable Teacher
